Angus came to the Langley WorkBC Centre during a difficult time in his career. After working in sales and business development, Angus experienced high anxiety and depression in his most recent role. The stress led him to leave his job, and he realized he needed both a fresh start and support to pursue a more stable, fulfilling career path. Angus had his sights set on becoming an electrician but knew he needed updated job search skills, confidence, and training to make that transition possible.
How Langley WorkBC Helped
The Langley WorkBC Centre provided Angus with the tools, encouragement, and one-on-one support he needed to move forward:
- Personalized Employment Support: Angus worked closely with a Career Coach who helped reduce stress, simplified application processes, and provided reassurance every step of the way.
- Customized Workshops: To accommodate his needs and build confidence, individual workshops were arranged focusing on resume preparation, interview techniques, and current job search strategies.
- Wage Subsidy Support: Angus was given a wage subsidy marketing letter to strengthen his employability and increase opportunities with potential employers.
- Training Assistance: WorkBC guided Angus through the occupational skills training application process, providing him the support and resources needed to enroll in the Electrician Foundations program.
Current Success
With the help of the Langley WorkBC team, Angus is now enrolled in the Electrician Foundations program. He is actively building a new career in the electrical trade, moving toward a stable and rewarding future.
