Almost 500,000 kgs of perishable food distributed from Maple Ridge food bank facility

In one year the Friends In Need Food Bank’s Perishable Food Recovery facility has received hundreds of thousands of kilograms of food that has been sorted and distributed to those in need in the community. Friends In Need Food Bank executive director Mary Robson credited Food Banks B.C. and their award-winning guide that was distributed in 2017 about how to set up a Perishable Food Recovery Program, along with numerous grants they received and community donor. Anyone in need can register with the food bank by phone at 604-466-3663, extension 206, between 9 and noon from Monday to Friday.
